This chapter focuses on issues of feminism and translation raised in the specific context of children’s literature. It consists of five sections which present the historical origins of feminist criticism in children’s literature, focus on feminist adaptations as well as experimental feminist translation strategies and gender trends, reflect on the criticisms of these adaptations and emphasise the significance of how they address gender, and report on recent contributions in gender and feminism in translated children’s literature in different contexts. The final section presents research methods in exploring translated feminist children’s literature. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the future of the subject.
