Objective: The study was conducted to make a systematic review of the studies conducted to determine the anxiety levels in families with children with special needs. Materials and Method: The study summarized what has been done in scientific research on the anxiety levels of families of children with special needs in the last 10 years. Research articles containing the words "children with disabilities, children with special needs, families with children with special needs, anxiety level" were scanned between May-September 2023 and 23 research articles were found in this context. Of the articles obtained, 3 articles that did not meet the criteria of our study were excluded from the study and 20 articles were analyzed and evaluated. Results: The majority of the articles examined were published between 2004 and 2023, and the 23 articles we examined within the scope of this review study include a total of 3050 parents (Table 1). It was observed that 47.7% of the articles examined within the scope of the research were published between 2019-2022 (n=11) (Table 2). The development of the studies according to their designs is that 75% are of qualitative type (n = 16) and 45% belong to families with intellectual disabilities (n=10). Conclusion: Studies have shown that the fact that families with disabled children are under a great burden in physical, emotional, social and economic terms plays a major role in increasing anxiety and depression levels. In order to reduce the anxiety levels of families, we can say that the division of labor in the responsibilities of individuals within the family helps to lighten the burden on individuals and that they can be happier by allocating time for themselves. Among the most common complaints of families, it is stated that they cannot spend comfortable time with their children in social environments and therefore they are forced to lead an asocial life. In this sense, it is possible to say that the levels of anxiety and depression in families with children with disabilities can be reduced through public awareness-raising and awareness raising activities. In addition to the support provided to families for information, care, housing, employment, counseling, education and income, we think that community-oriented trainings and projects to be implemented together are of great importance for families with disabled children to cope with the difficulties they face, to normalize their lives and to improve their quality of life, and to reduce their anxiety.
