Özet
Günümüz toplumunda önemli bir yeri bulunan spor, tarih boyunca yaşanan gelişmelerden etkilenerek birçok dönüşüme uğramıştır. Bu dönüşümlerin sonucu olarak büyük bir endüstri haline gelen sporun içerisinde her geçen gün yeni branşların ortaya çıktığı görülmektedir. Bu branşlardan bazıları daha önce spor olarak kabul edilmeyen etkinliklerden meydana gelmektedir. Bu çalışma, ortaya çıktıkları dönemde sportif bir faaliyet olarak görülmeyen etkinliklerin nasıl ve neden birer spor haline dönüştüğünü ve bununla birlikte spor ve hip-hop kültürü arasındaki ilişkiyi ele almaktadır. Hip-hop kültürünün unsurları arasında yer alan break dans, kaykay gibi yakın geçmişte olimpik spor olma niteliği kazanan aktiviteler sportifleştirme kavramının bir sonucu olarak görülmektedir. Sporun kültürel bir olgu olmasının yanı sıra bir endüstri haline dönüşmesi, onun geleceğinde etkili olan kararların sektörel sürdürülebilirlik odaklı alındığını ortaya koymaktadır. Özellikle ekonomik büyüme odaklı alınan kararlar neticesinde spor birçok teknolojik ya da kültürel gelişmeden direkt olarak etkilenmektedir. Bu çalışmada sporun daha geniş kitlelere ulaşmak için hip-hop kültürü ile dolaylı ya da doğrudan olarak girdiği ilişki ortaya konmuştur.
Sports, which have an important place in today's society, have undergone many transformations under the influence of developments throughout history. As a result of these transformations, it is evident that new branches emerge every day within sports, which has become a huge industry. Some of these branches consist of activities that were not previously considered sports. This study examines how and why events that were not considered sports activities at the time they emerged turned into sports, as well as the relationship between sports and hip-hop culture. Activities such as break dancing and skateboarding, which are among the elements of hip-hop culture and have recently become Olympic sports, are seen as a result of the concept of sportification. The fact that sports has become an industry as well as a cultural phenomenon reveals that the decisions affecting its future are made with a focus on sectoral sustainability. Sports are directly affected by many technological or cultural developments, especially as a result of decisions focused on economic growth. In this study, the indirect or direct relationship between sports and hip-hop culture is revealed in order to reach wider audiences.
