dc.description.abstractHer bireyin temel vatandaşlık hakkı olmanın yanı sıra, yaşadığı yüzyıla ayak uydurabilmesi, kendini geliştirebilmesi ve içinde bulunduğu toplumda hayatına devam edebilmesi adına gerekli olan eğitim; sürekli bilme ve öğrenme ihtiyacını karşılamakla birlikte din, dil, etnisite, cinsiyet, yaş ayrımı gözetmeksizin her insanın eşit şartlarda ulaşması gereken bir olgudur. Ancak eğitime erişim konusunda bireylerin sahip oldukları koşulların eşit olmadığı görülmektedir. Nitekim eğitimde fırsat eşitsizliği, insanların doğuştan veya sonradan elde ettikleri fırsatların farklılıklarına dikkat çekerek, bu farklılıkların oluşturduğu sonuçları ifade eder. Bireyin sınıfsal konumu, etnik kökeni, içinde bulunduğu toplumun değer yargıları ve normları, doğuştan getirdiği özellikleri gibi nedenler, bireyin eğitime erişmesinin önünde engel oluşturabilmektedir. Bu noktada bu çalışmanın amacı, eğitimde fırsat eşitsizliği yaratan ekonomik, toplumsal, bölgesel, biyolojik ve siyasi etmenlerin çeşitli çalışmalar ışığında toplumsal eşitsizlik bağlamında değerlendirilmesidir. İlgili bağlamlar, literatür taraması yapılarak, örnekler üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir.
dc.description.abstractBesides being a fundamental human right, education is necessary for individuals to adopt the century they live in, to develop themselves and to be in harmony with the society. Education meets people's need to know and learn and there should be no discrimination based on religion, language, race, gender or age in education. However, the conditions that people have in accessing education are not equal. Inequality of opportunity in education focuses on the differences of opportunities the individuals have, both by birth and through their life course and the consequences of these differences. An individual’s class position, ethnic belonging, the culture and norms of the given society, the individual’s characteristics might create obstacles regarding access to education. The aim of this study is to examine the economic, social, regional, biological and political factors that cause inequality of opportunity in education in the scope of data from various studies. Literature review is used as the method of the study.
