dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada, erken Cumhuriyet dönemi modernleşme sürecinde yaşanan kurumsallaşmanın ve değişen devlet ideolojisinin mimarlığa yansımalarını ortaya koymak ve bu sürecin mimarlık faaliyetlerini ne ölçüde etkilediğini açıklamak hedeflenmiştir. 1930’larda ulus-devlet ideolojisi çerçevesinde gerçekleşen modernleşme projesinin en önemli örnekleri mimarlık yolu ile yapılmıştır. Bu bağlamda Erken Cumhuriyet Dönemi olarak adlandırılan sürecin Türk mimarlığı için bir geçiş dönemi olduğu söylenebilir. Modernleşme ile birlikte her alanda değişimler yaşanmış ve mimarlık alanında yeni ideolojiye uygun yapıların inşa sürecine girilmiştir. Modernleşme ve mimarlık başlığı altında Batı’da yaşanan modernleşme süreci ve mimarlığa etkileri ile Cumhuriyet döneminde yaşanan modernleşme süreci ve bu sürecin mimarlığa somut etkileri üzerinde durulmuştur. Kapsamlı bir literatür ve alan çalışması yapılarak sürecin getirdiği etkiler halkevleri ve Mimar Seyfi Arkan’ın projelendirdiği İzmit Halkevi binası örneği ile irdelenmiştir. Çalışmada 5 ana madde belirlenerek binanın dönemin yapıları ile kıyaslanması yapılmıştır. Yapının tasarımında sürecin getirdiği değişimler ele alınmıştır.
dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to reveal the reflections of the institutionalization and the changing state ideology in the early Republican period modernization process on architecture and to explain to what extent this process affects the architectural activities. The most important examples of the modernization project realized within the framework of the nation-state ideology in the 1930s were made through architecture. In this context, the period called the Early Republican Period is a transition period for Turkish architecture. With the modernization, there have been changes in every field and the construction process of buildings in accordance with the new ideology in the field of architecture has been started. Under the title of modernization and architecture, the modernization process in the West and its effects on architecture and the modernization process in the Republican period and the concrete effects of this process on architecture were emphasized. By conducting a comprehensive literature and field study, the effects of the process were examined with the example of Community Centers and Izmit Community Center, designed by Architect Seyfi Arkan. In the study, five main items were determined and the building was compared with the structures of the period. The changes brought by the process in the design of the building are discussed.
