Öğe Agile Intrapreneurship in Volatile Business Environment: Changing Roles of Financial Managers and Risk Takers According to Schumpeterian Approach(Springer International Publishing Ag, 2017) Uslu, TunaAs a result of the economic, social and cultural reflections of the rapidly developing information and communication technologies, a new social reference was developed based on information society which is a an intellectual reformist domain paradigm which can also be called as the information age. In this radical transformation process, where information becomes a strategic resource including information and communication technologies in its center, economic, social, political and cultural lives were deeply affected. The changes and developments in social dynamics also affected the structure of the organizations, their management understanding, the technologies used and the employees while the organizations had to re-design their functions and the managers had to re-design their roles. More importance was given to the intrapreneurship and leadership qualities of the managers who can adapt to the changing competition conditions in the organizational sense in the information society. This destructive change in the operation and management techniques also affected the economy theories and was affective in the development of endogenous growth approach. In this section, we draw a conceptual framework between leadership and managership, discuss personal characteristics of the chief officers and financial managers, the leadership of the time while looking for a place for these concepts within Schumpeter's approaches and endogenous growth theories.Öğe An Investigation of the Effects of Open Leadership to Organizational Innovativeness and Corporate Entrepreneurship(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Uslu, Tuna; Bulbul, Idil Ayca; Cubuk, DuyguStudies on different leadership styles have a long history in the field of industrial psychology and organizational research. Being one of the determinants of how things work in the organization, different leadership styles such as transactional, transformational, authentic or paternalistic leadership have different effects on organizational outcomes. Specifically, in small enterprises, the leadership style of company owner has a direct effect on employee attitudes. On the other hand, with the widespread increase in the use of different communication channels and in the ease of access to information, the information age has brought its own leadership requirements. The present study is designed to assess the effects of leadership on organizational performance through the mediation of knowledge management by comparing open leadership with other approaches to leadership. Adopting a survey methodology, data from a total of 422 participants were gathered through convenience sampling. It is apparent that open leadership is an approach that supports entrepreneurship and innovativeness, yet not so frequently observed in Turkey, compared to other leadership styles. The results are elaborated in the discussion section and several propositions are put forward in order to support open leadership with the aim of disseminating a culture of entrepreneurship in organizations. (C) 2015 Published by Elsevier Ltd.Öğe FUTBOLCULARIN PSİKOLOJİK PERFORMANS PROFİLLERİNİN ANTRENÖRLERİ İLE İLİŞKİLERİNE YÖNELİK KULLANDIKLARI METAFORLAR İLE KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI(2021) Kayğusuz, Şeval; Şenses, Hakan Ramazan; Uslu, TunaEgzersiz ve sporda gösterilen performans, bireylerin egzersiz ve spor ortamında göstermiş olduğu fizyolojik, biyomekanik ve psikolojik etmenleri içerir. Bireylerin optimal performansına ulaşması için ise yalnızca fizyolojik yetilerinin değil, psikolojik yetilerinin de geliştirilmesi gereklidir. Bunun için öncelikle bireyin kendini tanıması gerekmektedir, ancak kişinin kendini tanıması çaba isteyen ve derinlemesine bireysel çalışma gerektiren bir süreçtir. İlgili alanyazında, bireylerin kendilerini nasıl algıladıklarını anlamanın bir yöntemi performans profillemisidir. Ancak bireyleri sadece bilinçli tutum ve davranışları şekillendirmez. Bunun yanında sosyal kimliğin, kişilik özelliklerinin ve bilinç altının da bireylerin ortaya koydukları performans üzerinde önemli etkileri bulunmaktadır. Arka plandaki bu özellikleri inceleyebilmek için, serbest çağrışımla bireylerin kendilerinin dahi hemen tanımlayamadıkları düşüncelerinin incelenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışma, U17 futbol liginde forma giyen amatör sporcuların kendi performans profilleri ile antrenörlerine yönelik kullandıkları metaforları karşılaştırarak, sporcular hakkında derinlemesine bir betimleme yapmayı amaçlamaktadır. Tasarımda nitel araştırma deseni kullanılmış ve yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, U17 futbol liginde oynayan ve ortalama 3 yıl deneyime sahip olan amatör futbolculardan oluşmaktadır. Metaforların ve öz değerlendirmelerin analizinde, nitel analiz programı ve performans profili prosedürü kullanılmıştır. Sonuçta, sporculardan elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda ortaya çıkarılan metafor modellemesi ile her katılımcı için ayrı ayrı oluşturulan performans profillerinde bulunan 12 kavram arasında ilişki olup olmadığı tartışılmıştır. Katılımcıların konsantrasyon, kararlılık, stres, cesaret, liderlik, iletişim, kaygı, zihinsel hazırlık, motivasyon, mücadele, özgüven, hedef belirleme kavramlarının; antrenörleri ile olan ilişkileri ve antrenörlerinin kendilerini nasıl yönlendirdiğinden etkilendiği ve bu durumun optimal performanslarına etki ettiğine dair bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Sporcuların kendilerini algılama biçimleriyle antrenörleri ile aralarındaki ilişkinin psikolojik derinliğinin, etkileşim halinde olduğu görülmüştür.Öğe Human Side of Strategic Alliances, Cooperations and Manoeuvrings During Recession and Crisis(Springer International Publishing Ag, 2017) Uslu, TunaTogether with the globalizing economy, it is no more possible for any system to survive by ignoring the market changes and transformations. A change taking place anyhow in any place of the world triggers complex processes and affects everyone by growing in waves. Successful ways of business conduct of today is based on predicting the growth speed of these waves and on the ability to carry out strategic cooperations and manoeuvres accordingly. Sometimes these fluctuations also trigger serious crises. Apart from the shocks created in organizational structures, periods of crisis have complex effects on people. Some people approach to these events in hesitation, while other people or organizations happen to have skills to turn these processes into opportunity. The practical examples show that the organizations that adapt to new condition by getting simpler and getting rid of burdens in the constriction process are able to come out in a better condition before the crisis. This section discusses the way of organizations to become human oriented when acting strategically during strategic alliances, cooperations and manoeuvrings.Öğe Individual and organizational effects of the corporate practices with the mediating role of lean intrapreneurship: differences between public and private sector in Turkey(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Uslu, Tuna; Eryiğit, Nimet; Çubuk, DuyguIn our century the most important institutional infrastructural tools (IIT) of the companies are knowledge management (KM), occupational health and safety (OHS), quality management (QM) and standardization. Beforehands OHS practices were just aiming to recover the results of the risks after they had occured; but nowadays a proactive approach is applied, in which precautions are taken and also the psychological and social mood of the employees, ergonomics, work load, workplace conditions and managerial applications are taken into consideration. The relationship between all these IIT and a new concept which is lean start-up, that means to deliver the most simple and pure product or service to the customer is not known yet. Besides; in between IIT, of which are influential on the intrapreneurship of the employees are needed to be understood. In this study we discuss the effects of these IIT on the employee performance and organizational effectiveness with the mediating role of lean intrapreneurship.Öğe Innovation Culture and Strategic Human Resource Management in Public and Private Sector within The Framework Of Employee Ownership(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Uslu, TunaInnovation culture describes the new eco-system in the business fields and production philosophy. The differences between the countries and regions in terms of management, science, engineering, technology and labor quality have become the factors that explain the complexity dynamics of the 21st century. Hence; increasing the international competitive power of the local firms in the framework of regional development politics, improving entrepreneurship and innovation capacity in local area are highly important in this century. In this process strategic human resource management (SHRM) is a critical activity for companies. Some vehicles are required to realize these activities as regulating the environment and for development. In this study, the effects of SHRM are discussed with the mediator roles of innovation culture and employee ownership. This research develops a framework for the investigation of job satisfaction through employee ownership, in the light of recent developments in innovation culture. The aim is to identify the mediating effect of innovation culture on the job satisfaction between strategic human resource management and employee ownership. To test the propositions, a field survey using questionnaires was conducted. 479 printed questionnaires were collected from Marmara Region. Especially in private sector, SHRM is directly effective on employee behaviors. The findings indicate that employee ownership as a critical psychological factor creates a step between the organizational factors and job satisfaction. (C) 2015 The Authors. Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmenlerin kişilik özellikleri ile çatışma yönetim stilleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırmanın yöntemi olarak nicel bir teknik olan anket çalışması yapılmış, araştırmada Beş Faktör Kişilik Ölçeği ve Çatışma Yönetimi envanterleri kullanılarak veri toplanmıştır. Veri toplanırken kolayda örneklem yöntemiyle Pendik İlçesi'ndeki devlet okullarında çalışan 186 öğretmen ve yöneticiye anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular öncelikle öğretmenlerin bazı kişilik özellikleri ile tercih ettikleri çatışma yönetim tarzları arasında ilişki olduğu, yöneticiler ile öğretmenler arasında ise kısmi farklar bulunduğu yönündedir. Sonuç bölümünde öğretmenlerin kişilik özellikleri ile çatışma yönetimi biçimleri arasındaki bulgular tartışılmıştır.Öğe The effects of knowledge management and self-organization on organizational creativity: The mediating roles of corporate innovativeness and organizational communication(Ardabil Industrial Management Inst, 2015) Uslu, Tuna; Cubuk, DuyguCreativity and innovation are very important to achieve successful performance results in the organizations. Even there is a common view about the effects of the environment to increase creativity; there are limited studies about the institutions how to use corporate tools for this purpose. This study aims to determine the factors behind organizational creativity and evaluate the effects of these factors on organizational creativity within a model demonstrating structural relations. The rapid development of information and communication technologies have been changing the organizational structure, business and work methods, manager and employee profile, and in general work life, and have been bringing out new models particularly in communication in inside and outside the organization. Institutions aim to strengthen their employees with a positive approach by infusing them with concepts such as creativity, and flexibility and supporting them. In this study we examine the effects of these organizational predictors like knowledge management and self-organization on the employee creativity through innovativeness and communication. In our survey we used questionnaire method to the convenient sampled 227 employees in Turkey. Factor analysis towards findings and progressive intermediary variable tests are carried out by verifying different models. It was found that knowledge management and self-organization are effective on organizational creativity, but the most important factor determining organizational creativity is organizational communication followed by corporate innovativeness. We suggest the managers, in order to increase organizational creativity in their institutions; they should use knowledge management and corporate innovativeness effectively, so they can increase the efficiency of organizational communication.
